This is actually a closeup of a larger picture that can be found in my scraps - i much prefer the closeup because 1. It looks cuter, and 2. You avoid seeing Jareth's rather scrawny legs. Heh heh heh. But anyway you can view it here :

"How now, little Sarah?"
I recall some time back reading a Labyrinth fanfic by
entitled "Linda's Wish" ([link]), about Linda Williams wishing away her little daughter to the Labyrinth, and it stuck with me for a very, very long time! It kinda got me thinking that Jareth had to know Sarah from very, very long ago. He'd probably been watching her his whole life (in the most non-creepy and wonderfully romantic sense possible.).
Sarah obviously had to be a child of powerful dreams - and such dreamers are inexplicably bound to the Goblin Lord, attracted to his realm. I wouldn't be surprised if, as a tiny girl, she'd just happily crawled into his kingdom unannounced on occasion, before she was too young to be afraid or to rein in the power of her dreams. And Jareth would have to carefully shake her off from the goblins that crowded round to investigate their small curious visitor, and then lift her into his arms and sing strange songs to lull her to sleep. And then, gently deliver her back to her rightful place and rightful time.
If you had to keep doing that for over a year, you'd definitely start to develop some sort of attachment. XD
I'd give a pretty penny to know His Majesty's thoughts in that particular picture.

I'd write a longer chunk of little fanfic to illustrate my point - but I'm just too eager to post this baby up because it's about the most decent artthing I've done in a long time. I had another Sarah/Jareth piece in the pipeline, but it's been canned for now due to some technical issues I have to resolve between that particular artpiece and Photoshop. >< *fistshake*

It's a very touching little scene of just how IMPORTANT little Sarah, and her dreams are to a truly amused Jareth as he holds this pretty special little princess.
Jareth gave a rather soft smile of genuine warmth that he felt coming from a little Sarah's thoughts as he, the feared Goblin King would play elder brother/cousin role until she could be safely taken back to the Aboveground. Tiny Sarah giggled as she gently played with the golden pendant of the Labyrinth hanging on its long chain around Jareth's neck. The Goblin King had seen plenty of good parents embrace their little ones close to their shoulders through his many magic crystal balls. Jareth silently knew that this little girl would have very powerful dreams, as well as the Creative magic of creating stories, and characters with costumes later on. He would keep a keen eye to protect little Sarah.
